What does Chrella verify — and what does it not?
Chrella does not interview Nannies or Families, and does not verify certifications, licences or references. Every badge on a profile records what an independent provider confirmed and what the member chose to show — it is never a recommendation from us. Please run your own interviews, check references yourself, and confirm any certification that matters to you. Meeting in person before a first day is always worth it.
Is Chrella really free?
Yes, on both sides and permanently. Basic is free forever for Families and for Nannies — no trial, no card, no expiry. A Family can browse every Nanny profile, see availability and background-check badges, reply to any Nanny who writes first, write an endorsement for a Nanny they have worked with, and record a Meet the Family video. A Nanny can browse Families, send 3 job applications a month, reply to any Family who writes first, and record their intro video. Pro — on either side — is what adds starting the conversation, job posting, interviews, the shared care schedule, watching intro videos, and reading endorsements in full.
Can I message someone without paying?
Yes — replying is free, on both sides, permanently. If a Family writes to a Nanny, that Nanny can answer without a subscription, and the same the other way round. Every other marketplace in this category charges to send the first message and to read the ones you receive, which is how people end up paying a subscription to talk into an empty room. Pro is what lets you START a conversation with someone who has not written to you first; it is never what lets you answer.
What does it cost to cancel?
Nothing. There is no contract, no cancellation fee and no minimum term. Cancel a monthly plan and it stops at the end of the month you have paid for; cancel an annual plan and you keep it for the rest of the year you bought. Your profile, your endorsements and your messages stay exactly where they are — cancelling Pro drops you to Basic, which is free forever, not out of Chrella.
How are endorsements different from star ratings?
Endorsements are written in full by a named Chrella member — a Family about a Nanny, or a Nanny about a Family — and signed. For three days the author can edit or withdraw it; after that it is permanent, so a reference you earned cannot disappear because somebody changed their mind later. An author can always take their name off, and the words stay. Not anonymous stars from strangers.
What’s the difference between ChrellaClear and ChrellaClear+?
ChrellaClear covers criminal records, sex offender registry, and county searches. ChrellaClear+ adds national database, employment history verification, and extended county coverage.
How do I know job listings are current?
Every listing runs for 30 days. We ask the Family to confirm it is still open on day 10, again on day 20, and send warnings on days 27 and 29 — the last one a day before it goes. A listing nobody confirms closes itself on day 30, so no ghost posts and no wasted applications. Confirming takes one click and starts the 30 days over.
Are the Nanny and Family communities really separate?
Completely. Nannies have their own private feed, Families have theirs. Neither can see the other’s posts. A safe space for both sides to speak openly.
Is there a long-term contract for Pro?
No. Monthly plans are month-to-month and annual plans run one year. Cancel any time.
